Sophie Umana Krauss is a Berlin-born, New York–based artist and designer whose work explores the invisible threads that connect nature, architecture, and the human experience. With a background in architecture and a deep reverence for ecological systems, her mixed-media paintings and drawings investigate the interdependence between organisms, focusing on plants and the human relationship.
Sophie holds degrees in architecture from Germany and New York City and has exhibited and presented her work internationally.
In all her work, Sophie seeks to awaken a sense of wonder and interconnection, encouraging viewers to reflect on the fragile, beautiful networks that sustain life. She lives and works in New York City and welcomes studio visits and collaborations.
I believe we must learn to live differently — in harmony with nature, not in domination of it.
